Distant Echoes

'BOOM' Thunder crackled across the nightsky, as if it was laughing at the lone howl echoing in the wind. The night was dark, with raindrops falling from the sky like bullets out of a gun. The wolf howled again, before it's howl was drowned by the winds own mocking howl. It wasn't untill a sudden crunch of autumn leaves that the wolf regreted it's actions. It'd thought it was safe, out of range. But no. It's underestimated the hunters. The wolf realised this was the end.
There was only one more howl that night. A howl of dispear and pain. And then all seamed to stop, as if the world was mourning the wolf's death...
